We have been approached with a request for support from the European Commission (DG TAXUD), communicated through their communications partner, regarding the continued implementation of the EU Import Control System 2 (ICS2).

ICS2 is a key EU customs security and safety initiative, and it is essential that all relevant stakeholders are fully aware of, and compliant with, the filing requirements when moving goods into the European Union. Strict adherence to these obligations helps ensure the smooth flow of trade and avoids unnecessary delays or penalties at EU customs.

We are therefore kindly asked to support this initiative by helping to disseminate the attached factsheet within our respective networks. This includes, in particular, all members and contacts involved in air, maritime, road, and rail transport, including carriers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and other relevant supply chain stakeholders.

The factsheet, which provides further detailed information on ICS2 requirements, is also available in multiple languages via the European Commission’s ICS2 website and the EU Publications Office under the “Download and languages” section.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could share this information with your members and relevant contacts at your earliest convenience, in support of this important EU-wide initiative.
