Dear All,

We have been advised via ECASBA’s Brussels representative, Frank Janssens, and the Trade Contact Group (of which ECASBA is a member), that planning is underway for an extension of the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS) to Ukraine and Montenegro. It is currently anticipated that Ukraine will accede to the Conventions on Common Transit and Trade Facilitation on 1^st November 2022 and Montenegro on 1^st June 2023.

Self-evidently any expansion of NCTS coverage will be of benefit to those of your members that organise shipments under the provisions of the Common Transit Convention. You may therefore wish to notify your members of the positive progress in extending coverage to Ukraine and Montenegro.

We are grateful to Frank for bringing this information to our notice. He will keep us updated on further developments and any possible changes to the accession dates.
