“Dear All,

Please find attached today’s update summary, which we trust you will find interesting and informative.

Further to our update of 30^th March attaching Bulletin No. 9 and IMO Circular Letter No. 4204/Add.6 (a further copy is attached), we trust that all associations are currently actively engaged with their national maritime clusters as well as the relevant authorities in order to ensure that cargoes continue to flow as best they can in these difficult circumstances. We would therefore be interested to learn - and to circulate amongst the members as evidence of best practice - of situations where members have made a specific contribution to enhancing the flow of cargoes or to improving the situation in their ports, be that from an operational, administrative or other perspective. Another area of interest would be where new technology has been used to reduce interaction with the master and crew of the vessel. Under normal circumstances visiting the vessel is a vital part of the role of the agent. Presently however, a major concern is the likelihood of transmission of COVID-19 to ships, one of the few safe havens from the virus right now.
